Description

Rust-Oleum Heat Resistant Paint 750°C, heat resistant coatings based on a silicone modified alkyd resin. Surface defects and loose pointing should be filled in, with any visible signs of organic growths treated with mould remover. Your fireplace surround will be the centrepiece of the room, but it doesn't have to stay exactly the same colour as when you first moved into your home. Stoves and open fires are messy by nature and will mark the surrounding wall with dirt and soot deposits. Repaint your fireplace surround to match your existing decor and interior design - or contrast to make it really stand out. Painting a fireplace surround isn't a complicated task, as long as you follow manufacturer instructions and application guides. Preparation is always key to painting any surface - and it certainly applies when you paint a fireplace surround. We must stress the importance that this abrading process actually results in a profiled surface that can be seen by eye and felt by fingertips. Trying to achieve such a surface onto stainless steel will require extensive effort and it must be noted that this will still not ultimately equal product performance which would be achieved by the blast cleaning method referenced above.

Can be applied on new, bright or shot-blasted steel or well pre-treated coated surfaces such as barbecues, boiler fittings, hot air cannons, exhausts, etc. Intended for small maintenance jobs and repairs, providing protection up to a dry heat of 750°C (short term peak load) for applications indoors or in a sheltered outdoor environment. The paint products offered here will not provide any increase in protection or resistance to the surfaces they are applied to. They simply provide a decorative finish that can withstand high temperatures that normal paints would not be able to tolerate. Using a normal paint to decorate these kinds of areas is not recommended as it can result in discolouration, failure by flaking/peeling/blistering, odours being omitted, and potentially creating a fire hazard. To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options. Practical consumption depends on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material losses during application. If the fireplace is active then you will need a paint to resist temperatures that are higher than a normal, decorative topcoat can handle, such as our fireplace surround paints that perform up to 300°C.If necessary, clean the surfaces with a dry brush, mop or dust cloth after a minimum of one month after coating A new type of heatproof paint for fireplaces and firewalls exposed to higher-than-normal temperatures. Muuri ensures a breathable surface that is heat resistant up to 300°C (in standard white) and 180°C (in its 8 tinted colours), protecting the walls surrounding your fireplace or stove with a striking finish. Self-priming, Rust-Oleum Heat Resistant Paint 750°C should not be applied on primers or coatings, which are not heat resistant. De-rust according the manufacturer's instructions - usually through mechanical or blast cleaning as hand washing will not clean the surface sufficiently. Use an appropriate dry filler on concrete surfaces and lime plaster or lime cement plaster on plaster surfaces

Due to its expert technical knowledge of the technologies and materials available across the industry, Promain has a reputation for outstanding service among its trade and retail customers. Laying down sheets around the area will catch any dirt, soot, and ash deposits as you clean the surface prior to painting, protecting your carpets or wood floors. Mask areas with tape that you don't want to be painted, and then prepare the surface of your fire surround depending on the substrate: Only apply if the air and surface temperatures are between 5 and 35°C and the relative humidity is less than 85%. The temperature of the coated surface must be at least 3°C above the dew point. It is also suitable for surfaces previously painted with lime, lime cement, cement and silicate paints.Once dry, the surface should now be prepared to paint over with a suitable topcoat. If your fireplace still functions then you will require a heat-resistant primer and topcoat, such as Tikkurila Murri.
