Description

This is one of my absolute favorite designer fragrances, and in my opinion the best from the house of Armani. It moved away from the stonking overblown 'fumes of the eighties, and replaced them with a hitherto obsolete style of citrus, mossy woods and musk.

From what I can tell from memory, this one is more citric and fresh than the 1980s version, but that's the way most classic fragrances have gone. I'm currently on my 2nd bottle which is the new formulation and it's very similar to the older formulation which was my 1st bottle.

I wore it at the time and it was fantastic for its outfit for an eau de toilette, very original with a lemon that stood out with its contemporaries. Fast forward to 2017, where I got my hands on a vintage miniature of this great juice and it does indeed still smell fantastic. You get a date from approaching her, and you are at the top of your game this is exactly how this fragrance makes you feel. Armani pour Homme was the first men's fragrance in the US in mixed citrus notes with wood notes, creating a revolution in the world of american perfumery. I first smelled it in 1985 when I bought a bottle of Ralph Lauren’s Monogram which had just come out.

In his notes, we can initially highlight fresh and citrus notes such as bergamot, mandarin and basil, which settle gently on the skin to make way clearly spiced nuances that slowland combine with patchouli, oakmoss and sandalwood, virile notes and woody. The new formula and bottle, while missing oak moss in the ingredients, has improved performance, duration and overall rendition. This is more for the mature person, but if a 21 year plus old person was wearing it, they would probably pull a lot of attention and asked may times what they are wearing. It is pretty light wearing (I find a sturdier vetiver base in the current Eau Sauvage), and seems to fade to a fairly low volume by hour 4 or 5, but that is somewhat the nature of the beast; it certainly still fits the bill of delivering an authentic eau de cologne vibe with a bit more legs than typical exemplars of that fabled genre usually provide.we didn't care about performance, because we splashed this on our faces and neck after a nice shave. When my mother comes she identifies this fragrance immediately, saying wow your room smells beautiful. Top notes are Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Basil; middle notes are Cloves, Nutmeg and Lily; base notes are Oakmoss, Sandalwood and Patchouli. Extremely versatile and can be worn for formal occasions such as meetings and evening dinners or casually in the warmer months. Mid 20s+, position of trust, power, persuasion (doctors, bankers, white-collar jobs, entrepreneurs, teachers.
