Rather than being so abstract, the verses are simple yet precisely adequate to convey the meaning. I will recommend again this one to everyone. Iain S. Thomas does it again. This edition of I Wrote This For you was even more emotional and even more raw filled with stunning artwork and incredible words. The project, which has proven incredibly popular across the world and gone on to become a best selling book, has also afforded him numerous exciting opportunities, including an invitation to dinner with the US Ambassador to South Africa, Donald Gipps as a consultant on digital development within South Africa, and a speaking spot at TEDx Johannesburg. I would have liked this much more during my teenage emo phase. Nowadays, it seems cliche and extremely emotionally manipulative. And emotionally manipulative books are those that leave me feeling most emotionless of all. It's slightly better written, but I would recommend this for fans of the modern tumblr quote-style poetry - think Lang Leav, Rupi Kaur and/or Amanda Lovelace. If you'd tried to reach the one you loved just a little bit more, when you almost had them, your life would've been completely different." Me: But there will come a time that all people will get tired of reaching out and loving their someone. Sure, love can be given freely but then it is most tiring when you get hurt in the process. As for me, maybe this is the difference I want to make of my life - without him.

As a creative director, he’s a champion for innovative design and communication for his clients which have included Nike, Levi’s, Johnny Walker, The Design Indaba, MTN, apple and many more, from Los Angeles, to Amsterdam, to Johannesburg, to Cape Town. His work has spanned everything from monuments to biodegradable posters. Iain S. Thomas is the #1 bestselling author of I Wrote This For You and Intentional Dissonance. He wrote his first book, Ignite, at the age of 23 for the Markham clothing store. It won the Grand Prix at the First Paper House Art Of Design Awards and the only craft prize awarded that year, in the design category, at the national design/advertising awards (The Loeries). If the thing you said you'd do makes other people happy, that's great but don't say things or do things just to make them happy." pg 15That the difference between pain and love is time. That love is only as real as you want it to be. That if you feel good, you look good but it doesn’t always work the other way around.

When I read poetry, I expect to feel something. Of course, poetry doesn't have to make literal sense, but I expect the meaning of the poem to be felt. I need you to understand something. I wrote this for you. I wrote this for you and only you. Everyone else who reads it, doesn’t get it. They may think they get it, but they don’t. This is the sign you’ve been looking for. You were meant to read these words.” Another short poem: "The Dreams On The Line"... "I chased my dreams until I caught them/I chased my thoughts until I stopped thinking/And I chased my heart until I found you.I bought the earlier version of this book when I saw it in a bookstore while visiting my mother in Florida. I was mesmerized by the combination of poetry and photography, both of which are compelling in their own ways. Together, they add more nuance to one another. What I didn't like about this is that some of the entries are misplaced. Like some thoughts about love are in On Dying or On Despair (but it's okay, no worries about it). This book is a collection of prose and poetry written out of intense heartaches, depressed judgments, schizophrenic thinking and Fly High drugs. At first, I adore how the author contemplates about human emotions - how they revolve around every core of our atoms, how they trigger earthly and heavenly impulses and the plenty little things that they offer but then, its exaggeration and sugarcoating has flee to Pluto that I no longer know how to fathom them. Some stuff were cliché - lyrics from a song, a segment from a quote, a phrase from a television advertisement. This book provides that feeling once again. My favorite entries in this book are The Anxiety Inherent in Air, The World Is Not As Dark As It Seems, and The Truth is Different Every Day. The bad news is, people are crueler meaner and more evil than you’ve ever imagined. The good news is, people are kinder, gentler and more loving than you’ve ever dreamed.”

There are more grains of sand in the soles of your shoes than you will be given winters to dream or summers to make those dreams real. This book is a collection of of poetry and photograph written for you. Not everybody will be able to understand this book. I like this kind of style to combine photography and literature because I also use it on my poems except the pictures are borrowed. LOL In 2009, for his work as the author of the art/photography project “I Wrote This For You”, he was voted one of the top 5 finalists in the world in the “Best Blogger To Follow” category on mashable.com under his online pseudonym, pleasefindthis. This book is so real and is a must read if you are interested in poetry, emotions, artwork, or simply want a change of pace from the standard book. That the sun will rise each day and it’s up to you each day if you match it. That nothing matters up until this point. That what you decide now, in this moment, will change the future. Forever. That rain is beautiful. After darkness, there is always light and you get reminded of this every morning but still you choose to believe that the night will last forever. Nothing lasts forever. Not the good or the bad. So you might as well smile while you’re here." I Wrote This For You is a little bit magic and words. It's a simple idea. The book is filled with poems and photo's. The photo's are simple. The constant paradox between quotations is pleasantly bizarre. One second you fight with your conscience, next second you pamper it, third you end it up crying, very next a splintered smile! Such as:

Iian S. Thomas is a world wide bestselling Canadian author and poet, and currently lives in South Africa. "I Wrote This For You and Only You" is an innovative form of writing that speaks directly to the reader, giving the reader an intense deeply personalized reading experience and emotional connection with the surrounding world. Original excellent photographs of various subjects and compositions are featured throughout this collection by Jon Ellis. Thomas began writing this poetry series in 2007, and since then the appeal and demand for his books has steadily increased. The real problem here is the title. It should have been I Wrote This for Me. Really. The progression of pronouns from you to I probably went off unnoticed by the author since he was confused by who were who. Truth be told, the author himself was both you and I. Amazing uncovering. Damn. Father Palahniuk, I did it. Okay. Kidding aside, I think you are somewhere between narcissistic and problematic. However, the book is there to help you. I Wrote This for You and Only You is a book of poetry by Iain S. Thomas paired with photography by Jon Ellis. Thomas’s short prose poetry covers topics like the self, love, suicide (or rather, not doing it), and heartbreak.. This little piece of magic touches me so deeply that I want to dig my fingers in its papers and hold it tight, forever.
