I also loved seeing Everly’s relationship with Max and the kinship she developed with Cozy. Congratulations on getting the Boulder gang together for one last hooray. May I hope Max’s brothers get their own spin-off in the future? This. Family. Unit. I loved how none of the angst in this book was focused on Max’s ex-wife, and, instead, he’s got a genuine friendship with her. I love that they both just want what’s best for their daughter AND each other. And I freaking adored their daughter, Everly. Kudos to Amy for writing one of the only fictional kids I didn’t actively hate. This girl was amazing!

These two found themselves in a difficult relationship limbo, both shielding themselves from potential heartache, making it a little harder for them to know how they felt about each other. This “limbo” made the sessions highly entertaining, with flirting, banter and insidious kissing. I think that max and cozy had great chemistry, and the spice was good! I love how protective max was throughout the book. THE JEALOUSY!! Hi, THE SPICE. The author’s note promised this book would be spicier, and Amy wasn’t lying! I, for one, am super happy about that! You need to go," I state through clenched teeth, willing my voice not to shake from the rejection blanketing over top of me. So I had all the intentions of posting a pic of this on my kindle when I was about to start reading early this morning. A strange thing happened. It actually has not happened to me in a while so that's the strange part. I read this in one sitting! Yeah, I know! I have not been this engrossed in a book in a while that I haven't been able to put it done at least for a couple of hours to run errands and such. Yeah I started at around 7 am and the next thing I know it's 12:45pm. Yeah, errands schmerrands! Seriously though, I have not been so engrossed in a book like I was with this one. Totally had to give this it's own rating too!

My only criticism is the level of exposition we got from Max’s POV at the beginning as he was listing every previous couple’s book summary. I didn’t need all of that information to enjoy this book. They’re couples. That’s all I really needed to know. But it’s such a small complaint! May I have felt thoroughly hot from a sexy scene, and had my heart broken minutes later, followed by heart eyes at some sweetness? Why yes, yes, I may. In the best possible way. I have to end this review with a very clear plea to Amy Daws to write books for each of Max's brothers. I absolutely need them. I'll do anything.

Cozy’s instant connection to Everly was just as important as any other aspect of the story. They fell into this effortless friendship that made me to smile. I laughed with them. I fell in love with the dynamic of this family and felt that Cozy should be hers. Managing the building where they live is only one of Daphney’s many jobs. It’s why she has zero patience for the obnoxious American on the other side of the wall who makes the most ungodly noises and likes to answer his door in nothing but a pink tea towel. Max felt unparalleled affection and admiration for his daughter. It would, without a doubt, win the Best Fictional Father award.
