Description

Along the way we meet some of the great thinkers from Adam Smith to Thomas Piketty, and ponder questions such as: What on earth does quantitative easing mean?

On the surface, this would seem to be nothing more or less than an example of performance art presented as literature. This is one of the few books on economics that works as a textbook while remaining actually readable! US journalist, novelist, translator and professor Maureen Freely joins Georgina Godwin in the studio.

I definitely have a better understanding of how banks and government policies work and where some financial problems come from. A quirky introduction to economics" (on the front cover) is a good description of this book which is attempting to get a person with a reasonable interest in the subject more knowledgeable. I am thrilled to announce that my book - How to teach Economics to Your Dog (written with my husband Anthony McGowan) has just been published. Georgina Godwin speaks to Dr Rebecca Campbell and her husband, author Anthony McGowan, about their latest book, ‘How to Teach Economics to Your Dog’.I suppose to use it as a textbook a teacher would have to supplement quite a bit with homework drilling down on the quantitative material that is missing, but as a supplementary reading or something for a general education course for non-majors it might work well. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. My only gripe would be that in the discussion on why some countries have developed less than others there was no mention of the effect of imperialism. Explaining concepts, and THEN giving the name of them would have probably been easier - that, and maybe a rear glossary.

It's a good survey of micro and macroeconomics, all explained in easy-to-understand terms (because it's being explained to a dog. Available after 3-20 days)In Your Dog Is Your Mirror, dog trainer Kevin Behan proposes a radical new model for understanding canine behavior: a dog’s behavior and emotion, indeed its very cognition,. In a lot of cases, a lot of heavy economic terminology was used, and then explained after using less-heavy words without then mentioning the main terminology again.Relatively new terms such as Sub prime mortgages are explained well, as are older ones like ‘externalities’. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Economics concepts can often be difficult to grasp, but the authors have done an admirable job of explaining them in plain language … This is one of the few books on economics that works as a textbook while remaining actually readable!
