Of these points, 27 will support autofocus at f/8 when the body is attached to one of two specific lens/ teleconverter combinations (the Canon 100-400 Mark II with 1.4x III or the Canon 200-400 with 2x III). Any other lens/teleconverter combinations resulting in an aperture of f/8 will only function with the center point. The 80D is the first non-professional EOS body that can autofocus in this situation; previous non-professional bodies could not autofocus if the maximum aperture of an attached lens/teleconverter combination was smaller than f/5.6. they're probably experiencing what a lot of established, successful organizations experience, a sort of self-reinforcing groupthink. it can happen to anyone, where things are so fabulously successful that dissenting opinions can seem unfounded/paranoid/crazy, especially if the cash keeps rolling in. but a critical mass of voices will be reached, but when the upper reaches of the organization starts to hear these voices, it will be sort of a "duh?!" moment for those of us on the ground. I got this camera in November last year, and I'm happy with it. It's excellent for video which I needed.

You won't get a very noticeable upgrade on iso performance, if you shoot RAW going from a 1100D to a 70D. I have a personal experience in that, i've made the same upgrade. In fact if you see the images at 100%, pixel by pixel you may find the 70D having a slightly worse performance because it has more megapixels. But obviously after resizing the photo to the same size, the 70D will be slightly better.I would love to see a head to head between the 80D and the new Lumix G85... I know they are in different classes but there is enough similar between the 2 to make it a very interesting comparison... especially for someone like me interested in garnering one or the other :D In my opinion DPR does not treat Canon, like they care for Sony and Nikon. What are their motives, I don't know, but it is my opinion. Maybe they think Canon is much bigger than Nikon as a corporation, and they like the David's of this world. Except for some models (and not ML w/ Raw), Canon 2kHD (1080p) is really good 720p video, as good as any !! Well, if you recompose the picture the indicated focus point will point at an object which was not used for focusing. I find that useless or even distracting. Once focused, I have to remember on which object I focused, when recomposing.

In the case of the Canon EOS 70D, the stand-out feature was its Dual Pixel CMOS AF system built into its 20.2-million-pixel sensor that redefined the speed of autofocus in live view and movie mode. This game-changing technology was always going to leave the 70D’s successor with big boots to fill and begs the question, is the Canon EOS 80D another revolutionary DSLR or more of a modest update on what we’ve already seen before? Gesture, NOT in any picture you ever took well & with any skill - NO, you drank the kool-aid, and lost independent thinking capability - sad !! a b Alvarez, Edgar. "Canon's EOS 80D DSLR is designed for the semi-pro crowd". Engadget . Retrieved 18 February 2016. We've chosen Canon over the competition because of invested glass and accessories, ease and familiar ergonomics (BIG+), good value for money and the best support and service at least here in Australia. The shooting speed for the EOS 77D is best described as good, without being particularly stellar; its 6fps burst capture rate bettering most consumer DSLRs, while hardly mounting a challenge to more professional beasts. Possibly because if it were any faster the 77D would end up encroaching on the 7fps shooting 80D’s territory and its maker wants to maintain some differentiation in its range. The EOS 77D features the convenience of a touch screen interface, which is nicely integrated into the camera’s broader operational ‘interface’ and is one of the more polished examples we’ve seen. If we’ve one grumble, we’d have liked to see one that’s even larger still than the DSLR provides. Also we’d have liked 100% coverage via its optical viewfinder, rather than the 95% provided here. That being said, screen resolution is a more than respectable 1,040,000 dots and this does also allow you to access its maker’s clean looking graphical interface which is designed to help new user’s get to grips with the camera’s functionality. Canon EOS 77D: Aluminum alloy & polycarbonate construction, capable of operating in temperatures between 0°C and 40°C Share Your Passion Through Images Using The New EOS 80D DSLR Camera And EF-S 18-135mm Nano USM Lens". Nobody cares. Every camera has one feature or capability that is a little better than another camera. I could give you several reasons why my EM10 is better than a D750 - but it doesn't matter, the reasons I give might not be relevant to anyone else just as your post doesn't matter to me or most people. Comparing cameras as ISO12800 is just plain worthless to me because I would never use that setting in any circumstance and I've never seen a picture taken by anyone at that setting that I thought looked anything other than poor and uninteresting. But beyond the most obvious feature differences, plenty of little things make the 90D a better DSLR than the 80D. Its shutter is twice as durable, rated to 200,000 shots rather than 100,000. It improves battery life by over 300 shots – 960 vs 1300. It even adds a fully electronic shutter, the first we’ve ever seen on a DSLR.
