Cassian visits the store and buys all her winter gear, including gloves, boots, scarves, and coats that she has available. He tells Emerie that a big storm is coming and asks her to distribute the clothes to those most in need, as a gift from their High Lord, Rhysand. The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other. In A Court of Frost and Starlight, the short ACOTAR book that serves as a sweet coda to a terrible war, Nesta wasn’t okay yet. She wasn’t ready to play nice, to act like everything was fine, to be comfortable with her own new skin. She was too furious to function. And that’s where we find her at the start of Silver Flames: drinking and screwing and trying to hide from the PTSD that’s chewing her up. It’s clear she needs change and she needs help—and she needs to learn to love herself, too. PDF / EPUB File Name: A_Court_of_Silver_Flames_-_Sarah_J_Maas.pdf, A_Court_of_Silver_Flames_-_Sarah_J_Maas.epub Emerie is a slender young female with dark hair in a simple braid, brown eyes, light brown skin and a narrow, angular face contrasting her full mouth. She is described as striking. Her wings have scars down the center tendons from being clipped. She wears a white apron and a simple brown dress when Cassian sees her at the store. The next day, the High Lord of the Day Court, Helion, arrives at the Night Court by a Pegasus. Helion inspects the Autumn Court soldiers and says that their bodies and actions are not their own, but there are not any spells that bind them. He says it’s like there is a fog around the soldier’s mind. Helion also met with Nesta in attempts of forging stronger wards around the Mask that Nesta can’t penetrate. Azriel than goes to inform Eris about his soldiers. That night Cassian and Nesta do the devil’s tango. Chapter Forty-TwoEmerie and Gwyn are incredible characters, each with their own vibrant personalities, skills and trauma they are learning to cope with. Together with Nesta, the three women learn how to help themselves, and create a found-family that will definitely pull on your heartstrings. Nesta’s point of view was easily my favourite, and her attitude towards her two friends was heart-warming to read. Nesta tries opening the door to the house library but despite her efforts the door doesn’t open. She enters into the livingroom and is surprised to see Azriel and Cassian sitting there. Cassian and Nesta begins to argue about her training and Cassian says stuff he shouldn’t. Feyre later meets with Cassian and the two talk. At the end, Cassian realizes something that will help Nesta train. He was going to try one last time. Chapter Twelve In chapter four, Cassian meets with Mor. The two talked about what Mor was up to in Vallahan. She was sent by Rhys in attempt to set a treaty between Vallahan’s king. However, Mor’s attempts were unsuccessful. Vallahan won’t sign the treaty because the human queens are gathering again and their army still isn’t broken up, they didn’t see the point of a peace treaty when there would be another war, this time against the humans. Mor doesn’t think Vallahan is interested in peace or allying with the Night Court. At this, Cassian thinks, “Now, even with Hybern’s king dead, its people remained angry. An army might be raised again in Hybern. And if it united with Vallahan, if Montesere and Rask joined with the goal of claiming more territory from the humans.” Mor tells Cassian to visit Vassa, a former mortal queen. Vassa was a “queen by night, and firebird by day, sold by her fellow human queens to a sorcerer-lord who had enchanted her.”

Elain is a Seer, but we have little understanding of her powers or what they mean. She’s adorably close with Shadowsinger Azriel but mated to Lucien, the sort of naturally heartbreaking set-up that lends itself to a good and likely tragic romance. Since both Rhys and Feyre and Nesta and Cassian are mates who have also chosen each other romantically, we’ve never actually seen what happens if it turns out you’re mated to someone you don’t actually like all that much. Armitage, Helen (12 August 2020). "A Court Of Thorns And Roses Updates: Is The Sarah J. Mass Movie Happening?". ScreenRant. Archived from the original on 3 November 2021 . Retrieved 16 September 2020.Maas initially intended the series as a retelling of the fairy tales Beauty and the Beast, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, and Tam Lin. These tales inspired the finished series, though it was not ultimately a dedicated retelling. [13]

When Rhysand and Feyre help Cassian, they talk with him and Nesta about the Wild Hunt and the exchange with Lanthys. Nesta also talked about how Lanthys showed Nesta what life would like if she was his Queen. Nesta briefly mentions Briallyn to Rhys and Feyre to which they say that the soldiers were most likely from her doing and she wouldn’t have acted so swifty if she hadn’t wanted the Harp since she already has the Crown. Rhys then comes up with the idea to remind Eris of their commitment to him and vice versa. He asks Nesta to dance with Eris given her ability to dance. Once Cassian is healed, he and Nesta go visit her old house. Chapter Fifty-Six

Nesta, for much of the book, is all rage and pain and yet also determination; she will walk those ten thousand steps, she will convince the other women to come to training, she will show them—all of them. But what’s missing is that sharp nose for the truth, that steely certainty that served her well when Feyre first vanished into Prythian. There’s an inadvertent suggestion that Nesta’s personality is largely her trauma, and when she’s really solidly healing, her whole personality shifts. It’s too broad, too oversimplified. Earlier books in this series are also about trauma and recovery, but in a way that prioritizes acceptance. There’s no acceptance for Nesta until she fits certain ideas about how she should be, and that makes her story a little hard to swallow.
