I purchased this book for my 10-year-old stepdaughter after getting her the mood journal from Fearne Cotton as well. I appreciated her discussion of gratitude and that actually it is only by feeling such black emotions that you develop great empathy for other people and make it your mission to try to make the world a more happy place. Secondly, at the start it says "Within these pages you’ll hear me talk about what depression feels like for me", this isn't true. Plus, Emma explains how much of our beauty culture is specific to the West, by comparing it to other cultures around the world. I would definitely recommend to any one who suffers with anxiety as this really makes you realise that you should live for NOW and stop worrying about the past or future or what anyone thinks.

Luckily I’m in a better stage of my life where I’m not actively depressed but rather looking at ways to keep depression away and this book is just the ticket. As a lifelong sufferer of severe anxiety I often find mental health books can be quite patronising and fake. If you want to enjoy the benefits of tapping sign up to the Happy Place App today and discover a range of Poppy’s practices that can help with anything from anxiety to motivation or simply bringing a moment of happiness in your day!

Whether you dip into these pages every now and then when you feel you need it, or use it daily as a positive exercise, I hope it brings you much relief, joy and calm. The author first goes through her own period of depression, before moving on to show how she has become more balanced in her work and family lives. I'm sure some readers would find value if they have never come across some of the ideas being discussed in the book but for me it was just a regurgitation of theories from elsewhere and general feelings.

The claim that it's about depression is deceiving: the advice given by Cotton Fearne is to eat healthy, sleep enough, look after your appearance because it has an impact on your mood, journal, be creative. With workbook elements to help you start and end the day well; get in touch with your creative side; and find peace through written exercises, simple practical ideas and visualisations, these are daily tricks and reminders to help you unlock that inner happiness.

Currently, I am using the Calm Journal that she wrote, it has helped as she has put in little guides one each page. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing what will make you feel better and realising you cannot achieve it. The pretty cover invites you to read, but truthfully the book itself lacks substance - while there were a few pages that really spoke to me, as a whole, there was nothing new in this book in terms of advice. Musician Tom Odell feels his perfectionism can make life challenging, but acknowledges it also plays a part in his success. His UK tour in March is sold out and final tickets are available for his headline shows at Alexandra Palace Park (July 19th), Dublin (June 26th) and Halifax Piece Hall (June 30th).

Let me explain 🙈 at that time I was about 14/15 and almost certain that I was going to marry Danny from Mcfly (I mean why not right?

I don't know if that's completely the right word because smug isn't very nice and this book really is very but almost too nice and happy and you almost wanna shake it and say not everyone is this positive all the time! Fearne talks about her personal experieneces in this book together with talking to other friends about their experiences also.
