Vaccination

Before travelling, consult your GP as you will need to obtain vaccination against yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis B, polio, tetanus as well as take malaria tablets.

Please take anti-allergic tablets with you or consult your GP if you are unsure about your reaction to insect bites. If you already know that you suffer from this allergy, you are advised not to travel to Casamance during the rainy season when the risk to get mosquito bites is higher than during the rest of the year.

Travel kit

You may wish to bring a travel kit with medicine for headache, digestive problems, diarrhoea, painkillers, bandages as they are not easily available in the immediate in Abene or its neighbourghood.

Alternatively, you can purchase homeopathic remedies or obtain an homeopathic travel kit at Helios in London.
