Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is a well-known soothing and hydrating ingredient used in many OSEA Skincare products. It helps calm irritated skin, reduce inflammation, and deliver hydration without feeling heavy or greasy. Body oil and lotion are better together: For best results, apply body oil on top of your regular body lotion immediately after showering while the skin is still slightly damp. Dry skin doesn’t stand a chance against this hydrating duo. customers on Kolya Naturals gave OSEA products an average of 4.9/5 stars. One customer loved the brand’s Ocean Cleanser since it worked well to clear dark spots and breakouts: The Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil is suitable for use on dry or damp skin. I chose to use it every morning after my showers, as I found that applying it over slightly wet skin made the product spread and absorb better. Unfortunately, the pump on my bottle malfunctioned and wouldn't open, so I had to remove it each time I used the product. Other than that issue, the application process was fairly easy and seamless.

What it claims: The Ocean Cleanser is best suited for normal and combination skin, and it chemically exfoliates with ingredients like seaweed with lime and juniper and jasmine oils. In addition to a daily facial cleanser, you can use this as a gentle shaving cream for the face and body. You can buy the cleanser in 0.6- and 5-ounce bottles. About the brand: Founded in 1996, Osea is a skincare company that has harnessed the benefits of seaweed to create a portfolio of nourishing, healing products. The brand prides itself on prioritizing naturally derived ingredients for its body and skincare products. A pioneer in the "clean beauty" movement before it was as popular as it is, Osea continues to grow worldwide while keeping a focus on quality and sustainability. About My Skin: Dry no matter the season What it claims: This floral-scented scrub is made with pink Himalayan sea salt, shea butter, and avocado oil among other ingredients. Osea claims the salt scrub will exfoliate and remove roughness, leaving smooth skin. Osea doesn’t suggest how often to use the scrub, but recommends using it on your hands as well as your body. The body scrub comes in a 12-ounce plastic jar. Vegan and Cruelty-Free: All OSEA Skincare products are 100% vegan, meaning they are free from animal-derived ingredients. The brand is also committed to being cruelty-free and does not test its products on animals. Because this uses chemical exfoliants instead of physical, the cleanser doesn’t have a gritty, scrub-like texture, but I still saw exfoliating effects in the form of my pores appearing smaller. However, I used it in tandem with two Osea serums, which may have also contributed to these results.Transparent Ingredient Disclosure: OSEA Skincare believes in transparency and provides detailed ingredient information for each product. Customers can easily access information about the ingredients used, empowering them to make informed choices. Their mission is “to ensure products are “free of chemicals that are known or strongly suspected of causing cancer, mutation or birth defects”. Though I didn’t mind using the serum, particularly because its lightweight consistency is not bothersome, I’m not certain how much it combats signs of aging. My skin feels smooth and hydrated after use, but I didn’t notice any fading of wrinkles or brightening of my complexion in the two months I used it. This is the best hand cream hands down. I’m a hair colorist and have very dry hands between chemicals and water all day. After one night my hands were healing and looked smooth without the greasy feeling! Highly recommend this!”

Natural and Sustainable: OSEA Skincare is committed to using natural and organic ingredients in their products. They prioritize sustainable and eco-friendly practices, including responsibly sourcing their marine-based ingredients. What it claims: This serum claims to brighten the skin with vitamin C, smooth fine lines and wrinkles with niacinamide, and support the skin’s moisture barrier with ceramides from oat kernel extracts. The formula is available in a 1-ounce bottle and Osea recommends applying one to two pumps in the morning and at night. Often, one of the best things about applying body oil is the beautiful scent. Everyday Oil Mainstay has an unscented version, but if you like a more full-bodied fragrance, consider something like Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle Body Oil. Choose something that appeals to your senses or suits your mood. Similarly, you could try a zingy citrus blend during the day, and something soothing (like lavender) at night. The best part? Body oils are a year-round thing. The dewy look you want your legs to have poolside is the same nourishment your legs crave when the brutal winters hit.Botanical Oils: OSEA utilizes various plant-based oils, such as Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, and Macadamia Oil. These oils provide moisture, nourishment, and help support the skin’s natural barrier function. They can also have antioxidant and anti-aging properties.

What it’s like to use it: Osea’s Hyaluronic Sea Serum is the hero of my face skincare routine. I apply half a dropper of it about five times a week, depending on if I’m trying out other skincare items in its place, after cleansing. I’ve had it in my skincare rotation for over a year now, and I believe it has changed my skin. I prefer to apply the serum after a shower when my skin is slightly damp, which helps the product absorb better.Marine-Based Formulas: OSEA Skincare harnesses the power of marine ingredients such as seaweed, algae, and other sea minerals. These marine botanicals are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, providing nourishing and revitalizing benefits for the skin.

The skin on the body is lower stakes than the skin on our face, but it’s still worth finding an oil blend that works for your concerns. Facialist and aesthetician Melanie Grant breaks down a few common oils for us: Based on the research conducted by this OSEA review, this unique skincare line is worth purchasing. The seaweed-based products are vegan, plant-based, and free of harmful chemicals which is hard to come by in average skin care products.

Vegan and Cruelty-Free: OSEA Skincare products are vegan, meaning they do not contain any animal-derived ingredients, and the brand is cruelty-free, ensuring their products are not tested on animals. For me, I want to get something that will give me multiple benefits like my lotions,” Jones says. “But, I really like to see an oil that has antioxidants. [They] protect the skin from free radicals, which [can] further damage and age your skin. I would say most people are not putting sunscreen on their bodies every day so, if they have body oil with antioxidants that is the next best thing. Look for these ingredients specifically: Jojoba oil, apricot seed oil, meadowfoam oil, sweet almond, apricot kernel, and hemp seed.” And she goes on to suggest avoiding “coconut oils on the skin” as the molecules are too large to penetrate the skin and are often comedogenic. Herbivore Botanicals: Herbivore Botanicals is known for its minimalist approach to skincare. They create products using plant-based ingredients and avoid synthetic additives. Herbivore Botanicals offers a variety of skincare products, including facial oils, masks, serums, and cleansers. As with most body oils, Osea infused several nourishing, naturally derived oils and extracts into this product, including the brand's signature seaweed. A few standouts are as follows:
