About this deal

We offer a complete circular IT solution so as well as supplying the latest technology we also recycle unwanted tech, simplifying IT lifecycle management and helping to minimise the impact the technology industry is having on our environment with our fully accredited recycling facility. Unfortunately, the keycaps are made of cheap ABS plastic that will attract oil from your fingertips over time.

Of course, if this is your first time dabbling with making your keyboard your own that's not going to be such a major flaw, but if you're used to having each command within easy reach this is going to take some adjusting. However, if you're looking for long-lasting comfort in a gorgeous, slimline profile, this is an excellent choice if on sale. For gaming, the Logitech G513 scores better than the Logitech G613 LIGHTSPEED mainly because the G513 has backlighting and the G613 doesn't. Custom Function Keys and you can even save and export the profiles you create to share with other people. However, I found the GX Brown switches in our test unit to be a little too heavy for comfortable typing.

That said, the Razer provides a better typing experience because the tactile feedback is more distinct and not as mushy as the Logitech. and there are plenty of mechanical keyboards out there that cost less and come with features such as dedicated media keys. The G513 feels better built and has a USB passthrough, while the G613 has dedicated media controls, multi-device pairing, and a column of dedicated macro keys.As I’ll discuss later, the Logitech Gaming Software is still the preferred means for tweaking presets, but it is nice to have some functionality on-the-fly via the function keys instead of needing to do it all in software. The Logitech G513 was designed to ease the previous generation G413 model into 2018's feature expectations. However, these keys are all proprietary, which means you won't be able to swap them out too easily and will likely be stuck with the oily residue that can quickly build up.

Not only does it feel faster while gaming, the Romer-G Linear switch is something we actually enjoy typing on.Its frame is made of both aluminum and plastic that feels sturdy and doesn't show any signs of flex.

While this board used to be available with Romer-G Tactile and Linear switches, it's now only available at most retailers with GX Blue, Red, and Brown switches. While plenty of mechanical keyboards use the venerable Cherry MX switches, Logitech has for some time now opted to develop its own mechanical switches named Romer-G. The G513 provides a better typing experience mainly because the G815's keys wobble, and some people might not like the shorter travel because the keys bottom out sooner. However, a lack of features we sometimes take for granted today means this is one best found on sale. The G513 Carbon features a nice anodized aluminum finish while the G513 Silver has a sleek classy and stunning look to it which I really like.On the backside of the G513, there’s a braided cable which requires two USB ports on the PC, but the cable is thick and durable. Since it's designed for gaming, the G513 has some programmable keys, customization software, RGB backlighting, and a USB passthrough.
