It is SO quick - genuinely 20 duplex copies/minute, the thing that slows the process is my being ready with the next file. During my test I was able to consistently scan twenty (letter) pages at speeds of 20 pages per minute (in 54 seconds to be exact).

This is too bad because the ScanSnap S1500 is the best business card scanner that I have tried so far. They say it is well-made, performs flawlessly, and works absolutely fine on Windows 8 and Windows 7. The trick is to create a shortcut in the software to your inbox folder so that you don't have to create duplicates of everything in the scansnap folder. The lack of TWAIN drivers has stopped me working the scanner from within other software applications which would have been useful at times.And there are few, if any, other scanners that don't come with a driver—most often a Twain driver—to let you work this way.

The ScanSnap's software—and particularly its scan utility—demands special mention, both for what's good about it and what's bad. The way it folds up is a design masterpiece, it opens up easily for cleaning, and dealing with jams and mis-feeds is a doddle and well thought-out.

It works reasonably well, although you should expect that in some instances, it won’t be able to translate some words. SP1 will be installed (requires 500 MB of disk space) together with either ScanSnap Manager or ScanSnap Organizer for systems that do not have .
