About this deal

When ready to serve, combine the vodka, lychee liqueur, Cointreau, and ¼ cup of the lemon lychee syrup in a shaker filled with ice. Using a non-alcoholic gin spirit adds even more earthy and herby flavors which perfectly complement the lychee. Pour the syrup into a blender along with the remaining lychees and the lychee syrup. Zest and juice the lemons into the mixture and then puree until completely smooth. Chatting about the launch in a release, Asda’s Product Developer, Marion Muir, said: " Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to remind loved ones just how much you care, adding special finishing touches, like a deliciously romantic gin liqueur, to your evening can make it extra special. With spirit season well and truly in full swing, head to Aldi stores or online from 15 th March to grab a bottle!

KNOW YOUR LIMITS The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units a week. PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY For more information visit bedrinkaware.co.uk or in the Republic of Ireland, visit www.drinkaware.ie What I am a massive fan of is films like The Philadelphia Story, His Girl Friday, The Apartment… all of them romantic comedies with brains, heart and dialogue that you want to quote forever. And all of them made at least 50 years ago… I guess they don’t make them like the used to – to use a cliché that happens to be absolutely true. I used Empress 1908 Gin for this recipe but please use any gin that you enjoy. Other recipes you may like! How to store: If your bottles or jars are well sealed, strained correctly and kept in a cool, dark place, your spirits can keep for up to a year.

Fresh lychees are easy to peel. Start by removing the skin. Then, make a cut in the flesh of the fruit and squeeze out the pit. Now you’re ready to make some lychee martini magic!

Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer and discard the solids. Refrigerate the lemon lychee syrup until cold. The bottling technique: Add your spirit to a Kilner jar or another sealable container. Make sure your kit is clean and sterile to avoid the spirit going bad. Then add your infusing ingredient and leave it to leach into the spirit. Here's a rough time guide:Leave strong chilli, vanilla, cardamom or citrus for less than a day.Hardy spices and strong-flavoured veg will need five to seven days.Berries and strong fruit can take around three to four weeks to impart as much flavour as possible.Milder ingredients like apple or florals will take up to a month. Lychee and raspberry are quite the dynamic duo. They pair wonderfully without being overpowering. Their subtle sweetness and individual flavors harmonize with the botanicals in Empress 1908 Gin, while providing a stunning color and simple beauty. The Chambord adds a little more depth of flavor to this spritz and ties everything together. But the star of the show is the gin, of course! Homemade Simple Syrup Another much anticipated return, this vodka boasts smooth, delicate vanilla notes for a light yet satisfying taste.Remove from the syrup and blot dry with paper towels. Insert a whole maraschino into the hole of the lychees. PS – don’t forget, you can vote every day for your choices in the Saveur 2016 Blog awards! After talking together, the boy explained he had nothing and all he wanted to do was provide and support his family. They spoke at length about the world and opportunity within it, then the man offered him a life line. He gave him the opportunity of work, he gave him a chance, a job and reminded him to believe in himself.
