About this deal

Ice Marshalls are present at the rink during all sessions and you are required to adhere to safe skating guidelines. Please arrive at the skate exchange 15-30 minutes before your session start time to allow ample time to put your skates on and store any belongings. As an optional safety extra, we will offer free of charge helmets at the rink, subject to availability.

Don't forget stalls, rides other fun attractions will also be available so come and join in the festive spirit at South Wales’ No1 shopping destination. Enjoy as always free parking. Make sure to get a bite to eat from our festive food and drink huts. Why not roast a marshmallow or two? Children over the age of 14 may skate on their own. Children aged between 4 and 14 must be accompanied on the ice and remain supervised by an adult. A maximum of 2 children are allowed on the ice with one responsible adult aged 18 and over. Unfortunately, children under 4 years old are not permitted to skate. On all outdoor ice rinks there is a risk of getting soggy as there is often surface water on the ice. If you fall over, you will probably get wet so you may wish to bring a change of trousers, just in case. Outdoor ice rinks are subject to the elements! Due to rain, unseasonably warm weather, high winds or a combination of these weather conditions, the surface of the ice rink can develop a layer of water. It is safe to skate on a wet rink, just more uncomfortable if you fall and get wet. It can also be more slippery when getting up, which is why we advise wearing gloves – not only to help with the cold, but also to aid traction on the ice when getting up. Learn how to ice skate with our courses of lessons that take place on selected evenings and mornings throughout winter. Each course consists of one ice skating lesson per week for six weeks. How Do Bob Skates Help?

Yes, we have a fantastic selection of delicious food and drinks available to enjoy before or after your skate session. We are sorry that this service is not available for other areas of the UK. Please refer to the following prices: Cloakrooms are used entirely at your own risk. Arena Group does not accept any liability for loss, theft or damage except if caused by intent or gross negligence of the company or its employees. There are nine disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders in the Palace car park, available on a first come first served basis. These parking spaces are free for blue badge holders.

The Ice Rink and skates are suitable for children 4 years and upwards who can walk independently. We have a limited amount of skating aids and double-bladed bob-skates available, but suggest you bring your own cycling helmet, gloves and other equipment if you wish. There are a limited number of skate aids at each rink and skaters must be under 120cm (127cm max including skates) to use them. Removing the water from the surface is counterproductive as it removes the layer of cold water that is insulating the ice below it. That exposes the ice to further melting, and affects the ice depth. We hold a large number of skates, and a wide range of sizes are available. Our skate sizes range from size J8 to size 14. We also have bob skates available for younger skaters.

Persons who in the opinion of the Ice Marshalls and other staff have consumed alcohol or any other substance likely to impair their balance will not be allowed on the rink. Please note, skaters participating in lessons must also have a valid form of admission to the Eden Project.

Ice Marshalls are present at the rink during all sessions and you are required to adhere to the safe skating guidelines. Each session is 45 minutes long and sessions start on the hour (2pm, 3pm, 4pm and so on). We recommend coming at least 20 minutes before the session time. These skates fit child boot sizes 7 - 13, (depending on the individual boots) or sole lengths of about 6.5" (16cm) - 9" (23cm). Bags of any description are not allowed on the ice. Please ensure you only bring essential items with you to the rink as storage space is limited in the cloakrooms. Our rink team will do our utmost to accommodate you if you are running late, although we can’t guarantee we can get you on the ice if it’s a peak session that is at full capacity. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. Spectators will be able to view the rink and the skaters from around the perimeter. To spectate is free. Our advanced cooling equipment keeps the rinks frozen and operational in most weather conditions. In the unlikely event that extreme weather conditions force us to close the rink, before your session, we’ll arrange for you to book into an alternative session, subject to availability.
