About this deal

The Ballistus Dreadnought is a fearsome weapons platform armed with a versatile missile launcher and a devastating lascannon, the perfect counter to heavily armoured enemy monsters and tanks. Read more about the Space Marine side of the box here: When setting objective markers up on the battlefield, place them so they are centred on the point specified by the mission. When measuring distances to and from objective markers, measure to and from the closest part of them. Models can move over objective markers as if they were not there, but they cannot end a move on top of an objective marker.

Librarians are the battle psykers of the Space Marines, smiting foes with bolts of witchfire and manipulating the empyrean to shield their allies. Encased in Terminator armour, he’s one of the most durable psykers available to Space Marine forces. Apothecary Biologis Leviathan is just the beginning for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. There’ll be a brisk pace of releases following hot on the heals of the launch set. If the Devastator Doctrine was active for your army during the previous battle round, you can change it so that the Tactical Doctrine is now active. The Space Marines are the Emperor’s Angels of Death, vengeful warriors who have sworn an oath to protect the beleaguered Imperium from all assailants. As the jaws of Hive Fleet Leviathan close on the Galactic West, they’ve got their work cut out for them, and are deploying new units to combat the Tyranid threat. Captain in Terminator Armour Objective markers represent objects of tactical or strategic import that both sides are attempting to secure, such as valuable artefacts, vital supplies or communications nodes. If a mission uses objective markers, it will state where they are located on the battlefield. These can be represented using any suitable marker, but we recommend using round markers that are 40mm in diameter.

Renowned for their unerring proficiency with bolt weapons, Sternguard Veterans are fearsome combatants drawn from their Chapter’s 1st Company and issued with special ammunition designed to combat the Tyranid threat. Terminator SquadDuring the Declare Battle Formations step, for each Leader in your army, if your army also includes one or more of that Leader’s Bodyguard units, you can select one of those Bodyguard units. That Leader will then attach to that Bodyguard unit for the duration of the battle and is said to be leading that unit. Each Bodyguard unit can only have one Leader attached to it. Entering the bridge of the Arch-traitor’s flagship, all that stands between the warrior and Horus are a host of Traitor Legionnaires.A model can only use this Death Vision if any enemy INFANTRY CHARACTER or MONSTER CHARACTER models are visible to it. If a model uses this Death Vision, then until that fight is resolved: Tyranids are a voracious alien swarm invading the galaxy from beyond the void. Guided by the Hive Mind, they have one terrible purpose – to devour every last shred of biomass, reconstituting it into even more powerful biomorphs and repeating the nightmarish cycle anew on the next world in their path. Winged Tyranid Prime If you thought that Sly Marbo was the Imperium’s only one-man army, think again. These new Lieutenants are expert assassins and skilled intelligence gatherers – they blend into the jungle (or desert, tundra, or wherever else they’re fighting), and get behind the lines and inside their enemy’s minds. In fact, they’re so efficient by the time the main Space Marines force arrives, the Lieutenants often have their feet up with a cup of tea, the war having been already won.

On top of this, you’ll also find a construction booklet to help you build your miniatures and a decal sheet for the Space Marine force. Read more about the books and cards in the box here: The Deathwatch utilise a range of specialised bolt shells in many of their weapons. From rounds that douse their targets in acid to hollow shells filled with superheated gas, each type is designed to eliminate specific xenos foes. Each time a unit is selected to shoot, if it contains any models that are equipped with a weapon with this ability, then before you select any targets, each weapon with this ability can fire special-issue ammunition. If any do, select one of the ammunition types below for that weapon; until the end of the phase, each time that weapon is fired, apply the modifiers and abilities associated with that special-issue ammunition: When the Adeptus Astartes fight, they employ a set of combat doctrines to eliminate the enemy. After pounding the foe with heavy weapons, warriors advance to lay down a hail of bolter fire before charging forth with chainswords roaring to finish the foe.If every unit from your army has the ADEPTUS ASTARTES keyword (excluding AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM and UNALIGNED units), this unit gains a bonus (see below) depending on which Combat Doctrine is active for your army. During the first battle round, the Devastator Doctrine is active for your army. From the second battle round onwards, at the start of the battle round, you can change which Combat Doctrine is active for your army, as follows: Feeling glum? Bored? Inexplicably chipper? Today, we’re brightening your day with two things we know EVERY Warhammer fan loves:

Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: When the Primaris Space Marines were released, there were those who wondered if they would fit with the rambunctious, rule-hating, tradition-steeped culture of the Space Wolves. This model answers the question with a swift axe strike for daring to suggest that the sons of Russ would ever turn down the option to be bigger, stronger and fiercer. A storied and stalwart warrior protected by a sacred suit of Tactical Dreadnought armour, this Captain is a resilient commander who excels at leading Terminator strike forces deep into enemy lines. Librarian in Terminator Armour Once you have selected an eligible unit to declare a charge, you must select one or more enemy units within 12" of it as the targets of that charge. The targets of a charge do not need to be visible to the charging unit. Within all of us rests a sacred knowledge, a secret potential. Something which is pretty cool, but not like, Space Marine Captain cool. Something that makes us great leaders, but only for say, up to about 50 people. You see, the greatest Primaris Lieutenant was inside us all along. How satisfying! How contrived!

Wielding a combi-weapon and two combat blades, this Phobos-armoured Lieutenant can infiltrate ahead of the main Space Marine force, sowing discord among his enemies and disrupting their battle lines. Sternguard Veteran Squad When you’re faced with innumerable hordes of xenos, an Infernus Squad is the perfect tool. Armed with Pyreblasters that spit gouts of incandescent flame, they purge their foes with fiery wrath. Ballistus Dreadnought Horus prepares to deliver the final strike against his brother, but when the fatal blow lands, his weapon somehow shatters against Sanguinius’ golden breastplate. The Blood Angels’ Primarch still lives and, with renewed hope, the duel continues...A model can only use this Death Vision if any enemy INFANTRY CHARACTER or MONSTER CHARACTER models are within Engagement Range of it. If a model uses this Death Vision, then until the end of that turn, this model has a 3+ invulnerable save. Plenty more Space Marines reinforcements are on the way – sign up for the newsletter for all the latest intel from the front lines. Meanwhile, Tyranid fans should sign up for the Hive Mind-themed newsletter about the new edition of Warhammer 40,000.

The miniatures are divided into 25 elite, battle-hardened Space Marines* – the Imperium’s ultimate defenders against innumerable horrors – and a seething swarm of 47 ravenous Tyranids that desire nothing more than to consume all the biomass in the galaxy. Let’s take a closer look at each army. Huge shifting swarms of Termagants are the mainstay of many Tyranid invasion forces. Armed with ranged bio-organic weapons, these scuttling beasts rush forward to erode their enemy’s defences through sheer weight of numbers. Neurogaunts SMOKE BOMB! It’s time for the second Phobos Lieutenant in the list. Weren’t expecting THAT, were you? On top of that, you’ll get the core rules for Warhammer 40,000, and the rules – as well as specially designed missions – for the new Combat Patrol game format. You’ll also find a full complement of Crusade rules to get your narrative campaigns up and running ahead of Codex releases, and a full Crusade expansion that delves into the story of the Fourth Tyrannic War through a series of linked campaign games.
